The Abuse of the Means of Grace Is
1 Corinthians 11:17-22
Now in this that I declare to you I praise you not, that you come together not for the better, but for the worse.…


I. VERY COMMON. Through —

1. Carelessness.

2. The indulgence of an improper spirit, as enmity, pride, unbelief, etc.

II. HIGHLY CRIMINAL — because a direct offence against the purity, majesty, mercy of God.

III. EXCEEDINGLY DANGEROUS. It makes a man worse by increasing his sin, hardening his heart, augmenting his guilt and punishment.
