The Duty of Self Examination
1 Corinthians 11:28
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.


I. IN GENERAL.

1. It is much neglected.

2. Exceedingly necessary.

3. Highly beneficial.

II. IN PARTICULAR. Before the Lord's Supper it is requisite —

1. To keep us from sin.

2. To secure it unspeakable benefits.

III. RESPECTS ESPECIALLY —

1. Our view of the ordinance.

2. The state of our souls.

3. The immediate frame and disposition of our minds.
