Conversion
Isaiah 55:7-9
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him…

I. THE CONVERSION OF A SINNER is expressed in three degrees.

1. In the forsaking of wicked ways.

2. In the forsaking of evil thoughts.

3. In returning again to the Lord.

II. THE CONDITION WHEREIN HE STANDS WHO HATH DONE ALL THIS is no state of merit, but of mercy; no, not so much as a little merit, but even abundant mercy.

(J. Mode.)
