Matthew 20:28
Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.


I. THE SERVICE HE RENDERED TO MAN BY HIS LIFE.

1. He came not to be ministered unto as regards His external authority. He might have excited the admiration of the world by His outward show; but He was poor.

2. He came to minister as regarded instruction.

II. THE BLESSING HE EFFECTED FOR MAN BY HIS DEATH.

1. The blessing procured.

2. The means by which this blessing was procured. "He gave His life," etc.

3. The number for whom this blessing was procured.
