Acts 27:23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, I. HE IS THE PROPERTY OF GOD. Man is God's — (1) By creation. This involves more than parental possession of the child. (2) By sustenance. (3) By redemption. II. HE IS THE SERVANT OF GOD. "Whom I serve." This supreme service, of which God's possession of us is the motive, thus has a motive — (1) Deep enough to control all our being. (2) Abiding enough to continue through all our history.
