And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost…


I. HIS AFFECTION FOR THE LIVING.

1. His affection was impartial.

2. His affection was religious.

II. SYMPATHY WITH THE DEAD,

III. HIS MAGNANIMITY IN ALL. No perturbation. Two things alone can explain his calmness.

1. Faith in his future existence.

2. Faith in the happiness of his future existence.
