Daniel identifies the dream and its interpretation as knowledge God alone has disclosed. What Babylon’s wise men could not discover, God made known through His servant.

Daniel refuses personal credit. Though God had given him exceptional wisdom, he understood that the revelation came by God’s mercy rather than human ability.

but in order that the interpretation might be made known to the king,

God revealed the dream so Nebuchadnezzar would receive its meaning and recognize that the God of heaven rules over kings and kingdoms.

Nebuchadnezzar’s dream concerned matters already weighing on him. God answered the king’s unspoken concerns and revealed what would take place in the future.
