Psalm 84
ISV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew International Version
How lovely are your dwelling places, LORD of the Heavenly Armies.1For the director of music. According to gittith. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. How lovely is your dwelling place, LORD Almighty!
I desire and long for the Temple courts of the LORD. My heart and body sing for joy to the living God. 2My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Even the sparrow found a house for herself and the swallow a nest to lay her young at your altar, LORD of the Heavenly Armies, my king and God.3Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young-- a place near your altar, LORD Almighty, my King and my God.
How happy are those who live in your Temple, for they can praise you continuously. Interlude4Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.
How happy are those whose strength is in you, whose heart is on your path.5Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
They will pass through the Baca Valley where he will prepare a spring for them; even the early rain will cover it with blessings.6As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools.
They will walk from strength to strength; each will appear before God in Zion.7They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.
LORD God of the Heavenly Armies, hear my prayer! Listen, God of Jacob! Interlude8Hear my prayer, LORD God Almighty; listen to me, God of Jacob.
God, look at our shield, and show favor to your anointed,9Look on our shield, O God; look with favor on your anointed one.
for a day in your Temple courts is better than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather stand at the entrance of God's house than live in the tent of wickedness.10Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD grants grace and favor; the LORD will not withhold any good thing from those who walk blamelessly.11For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
LORD of Heavenly Armies, how happy are those who trust in you.12LORD Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.
