NET Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleEnglish Standard Version
The LORD abhors dishonest scales, but an accurate weight is his delight. 1A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, but a just weight is his delight.
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. 2When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.
The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the unfaithful destroys them. 3The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.
Wealth does not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from mortal danger. 4Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
The righteousness of the blameless will make straight their way, but the wicked person will fall by his own wickedness. 5The righteousness of the blameless keeps his way straight, but the wicked falls by his own wickedness.
The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, but the faithless will be captured by their own desires. 6The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the treacherous are taken captive by their lust.
When a wicked person dies, his expectation perishes, and the hope of his strength perishes. 7When the wicked dies, his hope will perish, and the expectation of wealth perishes too.
The righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked turns up in his stead. 8The righteous is delivered from trouble, and the wicked walks into it instead.
With his speech the godless person destroys his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous will be delivered. 9With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.
When the righteous do well, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there is joy. 10When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish there are shouts of gladness.
A city is exalted by the blessing provided from the upright, but it is destroyed by the counsel of the wicked. 11By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is overthrown.
The one who denounces his neighbor lacks wisdom, but the one who has discernment keeps silent. 12Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent.
The one who goes about slandering others reveals secrets, but the one who is trustworthy conceals a matter. 13Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.
When there is no guidance a nation falls, but there is success in the abundance of counselors. 14Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.
The one who puts up security for a stranger will surely have trouble, but whoever avoids shaking hands will be secure. 15Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer harm, but he who hates striking hands in pledge is secure.
A generous woman gains honor, and ruthless men seize wealth. 16A gracious woman gets honor, and violent men get riches.
A kind person benefits himself, but a cruel person brings himself trouble. 17A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.
The wicked person earns deceitful wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a genuine reward. 18The wicked earns deceptive wages, but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward.
True righteousness leads to life, but the one who pursues evil pursues it to his own death. 19Whoever is steadfast in righteousness will live, but he who pursues evil will die.
The LORD abhors those who are perverse in heart, but those who are blameless in their ways are his delight. 20Those of crooked heart are an abomination to the LORD, but those of blameless ways are his delight.
Be assured that the evil person will certainly be punished, but the descendants of the righteous will not suffer unjust judgment. 21Be assured, an evil person will not go unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.
Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who rejects discretion. 22Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman without discretion.
What the righteous desire leads only to good, but what the wicked hope for leads to wrath. 23The desire of the righteous ends only in good, the expectation of the wicked in wrath.
One person is generous and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should and comes to poverty. 24One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.
A generous person will be enriched, and the one who provides water for others will himself be satisfied. 25Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.
People will curse the one who withholds grain, but they will praise the one who sells it. 26The people curse him who holds back grain, but a blessing is on the head of him who sells it.
The one who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but the one who searches for evil--it will come to him. 27Whoever diligently seeks good seeks favor, but evil comes to him who searches for it.
The one who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf. 28Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.
The one who troubles his family will inherit nothing, and the fool will be a servant to the wise person. 29Whoever troubles his own household will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.
The fruit of the righteous is like a tree producing life, and the one who wins souls is wise. 30The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise.
If the righteous are recompensed on earth, how much more the wicked sinner! 31If the righteous is repaid on earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!
