Psalm 45
NLT Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew American Standard Bible 1995
Beautiful words stir my heart. I will recite a lovely poem about the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet.1For the choir director; according to the Shoshannim. A Maskil of the sons of Korah. A Song of Love. My heart overflows with a good theme; I address my verses to the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
You are the most handsome of all. Gracious words stream from your lips. God himself has blessed you forever.2You are fairer than the sons of men; Grace is poured upon Your lips; Therefore God has blessed You forever.
Put on your sword, O mighty warrior! You are so glorious, so majestic!3Gird Your sword on Your thigh, O Mighty One, In Your splendor and Your majesty!
In your majesty, ride out to victory, defending truth, humility, and justice. Go forth to perform awe-inspiring deeds!4And in Your majesty ride on victoriously, For the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; Let Your right hand teach You awesome things.
Your arrows are sharp, piercing your enemies’ hearts. The nations fall beneath your feet.5Your arrows are sharp; The peoples fall under You; Your arrows are in the heart of the King's enemies.
Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice.6Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
You love justice and hate evil. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.7You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your fellows.
Myrrh, aloes, and cassia perfume your robes. In ivory palaces the music of strings entertains you.8All Your garments are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; Out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made You glad.
Kings’ daughters are among your noble women. At your right side stands the queen, wearing jewelry of finest gold from Ophir!9Kings' daughters are among Your noble ladies; At Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir.
Listen to me, O royal daughter; take to heart what I say. Forget your people and your family far away.10Listen, O daughter, give attention and incline your ear: Forget your people and your father's house;
For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord.11Then the King will desire your beauty. Because He is your Lord, bow down to Him.
The princess of Tyre will shower you with gifts. The wealthy will beg your favor.12The daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; The rich among the people will seek your favor.
The bride, a princess, looks glorious in her golden gown.13The King's daughter is all glorious within; Her clothing is interwoven with gold.
In her beautiful robes, she is led to the king, accompanied by her bridesmaids.14She will be led to the King in embroidered work; The virgins, her companions who follow her, Will be brought to You.
What a joyful and enthusiastic procession as they enter the king’s palace!15They will be led forth with gladness and rejoicing; They will enter into the King's palace.
Your sons will become kings like their father. You will make them rulers over many lands.16In place of your fathers will be your sons; You shall make them princes in all the earth.
I will bring honor to your name in every generation. Therefore, the nations will praise you forever and ever.17I will cause Your name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore the peoples will give You thanks forever and ever.
