Hosea Redeems His Wife
(Zechariah 2:6–13)

1  וַיֹּ֨אמֶר (And said) יְהוָ֜ה (YHWH) אֵלַ֗י (to me) ע֚וֹד (Again), לֵ֣ךְ (go) אֱ‍ֽהַב־ (love) אִשָּׁ֔ה (a woman) אֲהֻ֥בַת (loved by) רֵ֖עַ (by another), וּמְנָאָ֑פֶת (and is committing adultery), כְּאַהֲבַ֤ת (according to the love) יְהוָה֙ (of YHWH) אֶת־ (-) בְּנֵ֣י (for the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel), וְהֵ֗ם (and they) פֹּנִים֙ (are turning) אֶל־ (to) אֱלֹהִ֣ים (gods), אֲחֵרִ֔ים (other) וְאֹהֲבֵ֖י (and are loving) אֲשִׁישֵׁ֥י (the cakes) עֲנָבִֽים׃ (of raisins).

2  וָאֶכְּרֶ֣הָ (And I bought her) לִּ֔י (for myself) בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֥ה (with five) עָשָׂ֖ר (and ten shekels) כָּ֑סֶף (of silver), וְחֹ֥מֶר (and a homer) שְׂעֹרִ֖ים (of barley), וְלֵ֥תֶךְ (and a lethech) שְׂעֹרִֽים׃ (of barley); 3  וָאֹמַ֣ר (and I said) אֵלֶ֗יהָ (to her) יָמִ֤ים (Days); רַבִּים֙ (many) תֵּ֣שְׁבִי (you will dwell) לִ֔י (with me) לֹ֣א (not) תִזְנִ֔י (you will act like a prostitute), וְלֹ֥א (and not) תִֽהְיִ֖י (will you be) לְאִ֑ישׁ (to another man); וְגַם־ (also) אֲנִ֖י (I) אֵלָֽיִךְ׃ (toward you).

4  כִּ֣י׀ (For) יָמִ֣ים (days) רַבִּ֗ים (many) יֵֽשְׁבוּ֙ (will dwell) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel) אֵ֥ין (without) מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ (king), וְאֵ֣ין (or) שָׂ֔ר (prince), וְאֵ֥ין (and without) זֶ֖בַח (sacrifice), וְאֵ֣ין (or) מַצֵּבָ֑ה (sacred pillar), וְאֵ֥ין (and without) אֵפ֖וֹד (ephod), וּתְרָפִֽים׃ (or teraphim); 5  אַחַ֗ר (afterward) יָשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ (will return), בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel) וּבִקְשׁוּ֙ (and they will seek) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם (their God), וְאֵ֖ת (and) דָּוִ֣ד (David) מַלְכָּ֑ם (their king); וּפָחֲד֧וּ (and they will come trembling) אֶל־ (to) יְהוָ֛ה (YHWH) וְאֶל־ (and to) טוּב֖וֹ (His goodness) בְּאַחֲרִ֥ית (in the latter) הַיָּמִֽים׃פ (days).
