The Blessed Fear of Yahweh
(Psalm 128:1–6)

1Hallelu YAH!

Blessed is the man fearing YHWH;

in His commandments he has delighted greatly.

2His seed is mighty in the land;

the generation of the upright will be blessed.

3Wealth and riches are in his house,

and his righteousness stands forever.

4Light has risen in the darkness for the upright—

for the gracious, and compassionate, and righteous.

5The good man is gracious and lends freely;

he contains his affairs with justice.

6Surely he will not be shaken forever;

the righteous will be as a memorial forever.

7Of an evil report he is not afraid;

his heart is firm, trusting in YHWH.

8His heart is upheld; he will not be afraid,

until that he looks on his enemies.

9He has scattered—he has given to the needy;

his righteousness stands forever;

his horn is raised high in honor.

10A wicked one will see and be angry;

he will gnash his teeth and melt away;

the desire of the wicked ones will perish.
