Yahweh Exalts the Humble
(1 Samuel 1:1–8)

1Hallelu YAH!†

Praise, O servants of YHWH,

praise the name of YHWH!

2The name of YHWH be blessed,

from now and even to forever!

3From the rising of the sun to its coming in,

praised is the name of YHWH!

4High over all nations is YHWH,

and over the heavens His glory,

5who is like YHWH our God,

being on high to dwell,

6stooping down to look on the heavens

and on the earth,

7raising up the poor from the dust.

He lifts high the needy one from the ash heap,

8to make him sit with princes,

with the princes of His people,

9settling in a home the barren woman,

joyful like a mother of sons.
