Psalm 116

Yahweh Has Heard My Voice

1I have loved because YHWH has heard

the voice of my supplications,

2Because He has inclined His ear to me,

even in the day I called.

3The cords of death surrounded me,

and the straits of Sheol found me;

distress and sorrow did I find.

4And in the name of YHWH I called out:

“I pray, O YHWH, deliver my soul!”

5Gracious is YHWH, and righteous;

and our God is compassionate.

6YHWH preserves the simple ones;

I was brought low, and to me He gave salvation.

7Return my soul, to your rest,

for YHWH has dealt kindly with you.

8For you were rescued from death, O my soul,

my eye from tears, my feet from stumbling.

9I will walk before the face of YHWH

in the land of the living.

10I believed, therefore I said,

“I afflicted am greatly.”

11I said in my hastening,

“Every man is a liar.”

12What shall I return to YHWH;

all His benefits are upon me?

13I will take up the cup of salvation,

and upon the name of YHWH I will call.

I will fulfill My vows to YHWH

now in front of all His people.

15Precious in the eyes of YHWH

is the death of His holy ones.

16I ask, O YHWH—surely I am Your servant;

I am Your servant, son of Your maidservant—

You have loosed my bonds!

17To You I will sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving,

and in your name, O YHWH, I will call.

18I will fulfill My vows to YHWH

now in front of all His people,

19in the courts of the house of YHWH,

in your midst, O Jerusalem.

Hallelu YAH!
