To Your name Be the Glory
(Psalm 135:1–21)

1Not to us, O YHWH, not to us,

but to Your name, give glory,

because of Your loving devotion,

because of Your faithfulness!

2Why should the nations say,

“Where now is their God?”

3And our God is in the heavens;

all that he has pleased, He has done.

4Their idols are silver and gold,

the work of the hands of man.

5A mouth is unto them, and they do not speak;

eyes are unto them, and they do not see;

6ears are unto them, and they do not hear;

noses are unto them, and they do not smell;

7they have hands and they do not feel;

they have feet and they do not walk;

and they do not utter by their throat.

8Those making them shall be like them,

everyone who is trusting in them.

9O Israel, trust in YHWH!

And He is their help and their shield.

10O House of Aaron, trust in YHWH!

And He is their help and their shield.

11O fearers of YHWH, trust in YHWH!

He is their help and their shield.

12YHWH has remembered us;

He will bless;

He will bless the house of Israel,

He will bless the house of Aaron.

13He will bless those fearing YHWH,

the small with the great.

14YHWH adds to you⁺—

to you⁺ and to your⁺ sons!

15May you⁺ be blessed by YHWH,

maker of the heavens and the earth!

16The heavens of the heavens are unto YHWH,

and the earth He has given to the sons of man.

17The dead do not praise YAH,

and not any of those going down into silence.

18And we will bless YAH,

from now and even to forever.

Hallelu YAH!

Footnotes:

7 Or they cannot even clear their throats
9 MT; many Hebrew manuscripts, LXX, and Syriac O house of Israel
