Give Praise, O Servants of Yahweh
(Psalm 115:1–18)

1Hallelu YAH!

Praise the name of YHWH!

Give praise, O servants of YHWH

2who are standing in the house of YHWH,

in the courts of the house of our God!

3Praise YAH, for YHWH is good;

sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant!

4For YAH has chosen Jacob for Himself,

Israel for His possession.

5For I know that YHWH is great,

and our Lord is greater than all gods!

6All that YHWH delights in, He does,

in the heavens and on the earth,

in the seas and all the depths,

7bringing up the clouds

from the ends of the earth.

He has made lightning for the rain,

bringing forth the wind from His storehouses—

8who struck the firstborn of Egypt,

from man even to beast.

9He sent forth signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt,

unto Pharaoh and all of his servants—

10who struck many nations

and killed mighty kings,

11even Sihon king of the Amorite,

and Og king of Bashan,

and all the kingdoms of Canaan.

12And He gave their land as an inheritance,

an inheritance to Israel His people.

13O YHWH, Your name is forever;

YHWH, Your memorial is to generation and generation!

14For YHWH will vindicate His people,

and He will have compassion on His servants.

15The idols of the nations are silver and gold,

the work of the hands of man.

16Mouths are unto them, and they do not speak;

eyes are unto them, and they do not see.

17Ears are unto them and they do not hear;

indeed, there is no breath in their mouths.

18Their makers shall come to be like them—

everyone who is trusting in them!

19O House of Israel, bless YHWH;

O house of Aaron, bless YHWH;

20O house of Levi, bless YHWH;

all you fearing YHWH, bless YHWH!

21Blessed be YHWH from Zion,

the One dwelling in Jerusalem!

Praise YAH!

Footnotes:

1 Hallelu YAH means Praise YHWH; also in verses 3 and 21
