Yahweh Is on My Side

1Give thanks to YHWH, for He is good, for

His loving devotion is forever!

2Now let Israel† say that

His loving devotion is forever!

3Now let the house of Aaron say

that His loving devotion is forever!

4Now let those fearing YHWH say

that His loving devotion is forever!

5In distress I called on YAH;

YAH answered me in a broad place.

6YHWH is with me;† I will not fear—

what can man do to me?†

7YHWH is with me as the One helping me;

and I shall look on those hating me.

8It is better to trust in YHWH,

than to trust in man.

9It is better to trust in YHWH,

than to trust in princes.

10All nations surrounded me;

in the name of YHWH I surely cut them off.

11They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me,

and in the name of YHWH I surely cut them off!

12They have surrounded me like bees,

they have been extinguished as fire among thorns;

and in the name of YHWH I surely cut them off!

13You have severely thrust me that I might fall,

and YHWH helped me.

14My strength and song is YAH;

and He has become to me salvation.

15The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous:

“The right hand of YHWH acts with strength.

16The right hand of YHWH is exalted;

the right hand of YHWH acts with strength.”

17I will not die, but I will live,

that I might recount the works of YAH.

18Yah, chastened me severely,

and to death He has not given me up.

19Open to me the gates of righteousness;

I will enter into them; I will give thanks to YAH.

20This is the gate of YHWH;

the righteous shall enter into it.

21I thank You, for You have answered me,

and You have become to me for salvation.

22The stone the builders rejected

has become as the head of the corner.†

23From YHWH this is;

it is marvelous in our eyes.†

24This is the day YHWH has made;

we will rejoice and be glad in it.

25I ask, O YHWH, save us now.†

I ask, O YHWH, send prosperity now!

26Blessed is the one coming in the name of YHWH;†

we bless you⁺ from the house of YHWH.

27YHWH is God,

and He has given light to us!

Bind the festal sacrifice with cords

to the horns of the altar!†

28You are my God, and I will give You thanks;

my God, I will exalt You!

29Give thanks to YHWH, for He is good;

for His loving devotion is forever!
