God Is Our Refuge and Strength
(2 Kings 18:13–16; 2 Chronicles 32:1–8)

1For the one directing. Of the sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A Song.

1 God is unto us a place of refuge and strength,

a help in distress surely to be found.

2Upon thus we will not fear,

with the changing of the earth,

and with the shaking of the mountains

into the heart of the seas—

3its waters roar and foam,

and the mountains quake in its rising.

Selah

4there is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,

the Holy Place of the dwelling of the Most High.

5God is in her midst; she will not be shaken;

God will help her at the turn of the morning.

6The nations raged, the kingdoms were shaken;

He has given forth with His voice; the earth melts.

7YHWH of Hosts is with us;

a secure height for us is the God of Jacob.

Selah

8Come, see the works of YHWH,

who has set devastation upon the earth.

9He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;

the bow He breaks, and the spear He cuts apart;

the shields He burns in the fire.

10“Be still and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted over the earth.”

11YHWH of Hosts is with us;

a secure height for us is the God of Jacob.

Selah
