Save Me by Your Name 1For the one directing. With stringed instruments. A Maskil† of David, at the coming of the Ziphites, when they said to Saul, “Is not David hiding himself with us?” 1 O God, by Your name save me, 2O God, hear my prayer, give ear to the words of my mouth. 3For strangers have risen up against me, and terrible ones have sought my soul; they have not put God before them. 4behold, God is the One giving help to me; the Lord is with those upholding my soul. 5He will return the evil to my enemies— in Your faithfulness put an end to them! 6With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to You; I will give thanks to Your name, O YHWH, for it is good. 7For from all distress He has delivered me, and on my enemies my eye has looked. Footnotes: 1 Maskil is probably a musical or liturgical term; used for Psalms 32, 42, 44–45, 52–55, 74, 78, 88–89, and 142. Berean Literal Bible This is the first draft of the Berean Literal Bible.
