You Showed Favor to Your Land

1For the one directing. Of the sons of Korah a Psalm.

1 You have shown favor, O YHWH, to Your land;

You have turned back the captivity of Jacob.†

2You have borne away the iniquity of Your people;

You have covered all their sin.

Selah

3You have gathered up all Your fury;

You have turned from the burning of Your anger.

4Restore us, O God of our salvation,

and Your anger toward us cause to cease!

5Will You be angry with us forever?

Will You draw out Your anger to generation and generation?

6Will You not turn back and revive us,

that Your people may rejoice in You?

7Show us, O YHWH, Your loving devotion,

and give to us Your salvation!

8Let me hear what my God YHWH will speak,

for He will speak peace to His people and to His holy ones;

He will not let them return to folly.

9Surely His salvation is near to those fearing Him,

that glory may dwell in our land.

10Loving devotion and faithfulness have met together;

righteousness and peace have kissed.

11Faithfulness springs forth from the earth,

and righteousness looks down from the heavens.

12Indeed YHWH will give that which is good,

and our land will give forth its produce.

13Righteousness will go before Him,

to prepare the way of His steps.
