Good News Translation
So Saul sent messengers to Jesse to say, "Send me your son David, the one who takes care of the sheep."

So Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, “Send me your son David who is with the sheep.”

Saul sent a message to Jesse: "Tell your son David to leave your sheep and come here to me."
