Baruch 4:8
Good News Translation
You forgot the Eternal God, who had nourished you as a child, and so you brought grief to Jerusalem, who had been like a mother to you.

You forgot the everlasting God, who brought you up, and you grieved Jerusalem, who reared you.

You rejected the eternal God who gave you life. And you caused much sadness for Jerusalem, the city that was a mother to you.
