ContextThe Enticement of Sin
…17And they themselves lie in wait for their own blood, and practise deceits against their own souls. 18So the ways of every covetous man destroy the souls of the possessors.19Wisdom preacheth abroad, she uttereth her voice in the streets:…
But according to thy hardness and impenitent heart, thou treasurest up to thyself wrath, against the day of wrath and revelation of the just judgment of God:
Let us swallow him up alive like hell, and whole as one that goeth down into the pit.
And they themselves lie in wait for their own blood, and practise deceits against their own souls.
A perverse heart is abominable to the Lord: and his will is in them that walk sincerely.
