1And Moses, with the elders of Israel, commanded the people, by saying, “Keep all the commandments which I command you this day. 2And it shall be, on the day when you pass over the Jordan to the land which the LORD your God gives you, that you shall set up some large stones, and coat them with plaster; 3And you shall write upon them all the words of this law, when you have crossed over, that you may go into the land which the LORD your God gives you, a land that flows with milk and honey; as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you. 4Therefore, when you have crossed over the Jordan, you shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in Mount Ebal, and you shall coat them with plaster. 5And there shall you build an altar unto the LORD your God, an altar of stones; you shall not use any iron tool on them. 6You shall build the altar of the LORD your God of uncut stones, and you shall offer burnt offerings on it unto the LORD your God: 7And you shall offer peace offerings, and shall eat there, and rejoice before the LORD your God. 8And you shall write very plainly upon the stones all the words of this law.”

9Then Moses and the Levitical priests said to all Israel, “Take heed, and listen, O Israel: this day you have become the people of the LORD your God. 10Therefore, you must obey the LORD your God, and His commandments and statutes, as I command you this day”.

11And Moses charged the people that day by saying, 12“These tribes shall stand upon Mount Gerizim to bless the people, when you have crossed over the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin; 13And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

14And the Levites shall say to all the men of Israel with a loud voice, 15“Cursed is the man who makes any carved or melted image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret”. And all the people shall answer, “Amen. 16Cursed be he who dishonors his father or his mother”. And all the people shall say, “Amen’. 17Cursed is he who moves his neighbor's landmark”. And all the people shall say, “Amen. 18Cursed be he who makes the blind to wander out of the way”. And all the people shall say, “Amen. 19Cursed is he who perverts the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow”. And all the people shall say, “Amen. 20Cursed is he who lies with his father's wife; because he uncovers his father's skirt”. And all the people shall say, “Amen. 21Cursed is he who lies with any manner of beast”. And all the people shall say, “Amen. 22Cursed is he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother”. And all the people shall say, “Amen. 23Cursed is he who lies with his mother-in-law”. And all the people shall say, “Amen. 24Cursed is he who smites his neighbor secretly”. And all the people shall say, “Amen. 25Cursed is he who takes reward to slay an innocent person”. And all the people shall say, “Amen. 26Cursed is he who does not confirm the words of this law by doing them”. And all the people shall say, “Amen.”
