John 17

1After Jesus said this, He looked up to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that Your Son may also glorify You. 2For You have given Him authority over everyone, that He might give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3And this is eternal life, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, Whom You have sent. 4I have glorified You on the earth; I have finished the work which You gave Me to do. 5And now, O Father, bring Me into the glory in Your presence that I had with You before the world was.

6I have revealed You to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; Yours they were, and You gave them to Me; and they have kept Your word. 7Now they know everything You have given Me is from You. 8For I have given them the words which You gave to Me; and they have accepted them, and have known that I certainly came from You, and they have believed that You sent Me. 9I pray for them; I am not praying for the world, but for those You have given Me; for they are Yours. 10And all I have are Yours, and all You have are Mine; and I am glorified by them. 11And I will remain in the world no longer; I am returning to You; but they are still in the world. Holy Father, protect those whom You have given to Me, by the power of Your Own name, that they may be one, as We are one. 12While I was with them in the world, I protected those that You gave Me in Your name; I have kept them, and none of them is lost, except the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. 13And now I am coming to You; but I speak these things while I am still in the world, that they might have the full measure of My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, any more than I am of the world. 15I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them by Your truth; Your word is truth. 18As You have sent Me into the world, even so I have also sent them into the world. 19And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they might also be sanctified by the truth.

20Nor do I pray only for these, but also for those who shall believe on Me through their message to the world; 21That they all may be one; just as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us; that the world may believe that You have sent Me. 22And I have given them the glory which You gave Me; that they may be one, even as We are one; 23I in them, and You in Me, that they may be made perfect in unity; and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them, as You have loved Me. 24Father, I want those that You have given Me, to be with Me where I am; that they may behold My glory, which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25O righteous Father, though the world has not known You; I know You, and these know that You have sent Me. 26And I have proclaimed to them Your name, and will continue to proclaim it; that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them, and I, Myself may be in them.”
