Proverbs 12

1Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid. 2Good people seek the favor of the LORD, but He condemns those who devise wicked schemes. 3No man is established by wickedness; but the righteous shall not be uprooted. 4A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband, but she that brings shame is like cancer in his bones. 5The thoughts of the righteous are right, but the advice of the wicked are treacherous. 6The words of the wicked are like a murderous ambush, but those of the upright rescues them. 7The wicked are overthrown, and are no more, but the house of the righteous stands firm. 8A person is commended for his wisdom; but those of a perverse mind are despised. 9Better to be a regular person with a servant than one who pretends to be somebody and has nothing. 10The righteous man cares for the needs of his animals; but even the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel. 11Those that work their land shall have abundant food; but those that follow vain pursuits and fantasies lack wisdom. 12The wicked covets the loot of other evil men, but the righteous are well rooted and bear fruit. 13The wicked are snared by their own sinful talk; but the just shall avoid trouble. 14A man shall be satisfied with wholesome talk, and by the proceeds of his labor. 15The way of a fool seems right in his own eyes, but the wise heed advice from the wise. 16A fool early displays his impatience and anger; but a prudent man ignores insults. 17An honest witness speaks truth; but a false witness tells lies. 18There are those whose words are like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. 19Truthful lips endure forever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment. 20Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but those who promote peace have joy. 21No harm comes to the just, but the wicked shall have much trouble. 22Lying lips are abomination to the LORD, but those who deal truly are His delight. 23A prudent man does not reveal all that he knows; but fools broadcast foolishness. 24The diligent shall be given authority; but lazy people will serve under the authority of others. 25Worry weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it. 26The righteous offer good advice to his neighbor; but the wicked leads him astray. 27The slothful man will have no meat from a hunt to roast; but the diligent man appreciates and wisely uses what he procures. 28In the way of righteousness is life; it is the path to immortality (eternal life).
