1How lovely is Your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts! 2My soul longs, yea, even yearns for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh sing out to the living God. 3Even the sparrow has found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even near Your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God. 4Blessed are they who dwell in Your house; ever singing Your praises. Selah. 5Blessed are those whose strength is in You; in whose heart are the roads to Zion. 6Who, passing through the valley of Baca (Weeping), they make it a place of springs; the rain also covers it with the pools. 7They will grow stronger, every one of them appears before God in Zion 8O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; lend an ear, O God of Jacob. Selah. 9Behold, O God our Shield, and look with favor upon the face of Your anointed. 10For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the homes of the wicked. 11For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD gives grace and glory.
