Which was well reported of - These words are spoken of Timothy, and not of his father. At this time Timothy must have been very young; for, several years after, when appointed to superintend the Church at Crete, he appears to have been then so young that there was a danger of its operating to the prejudice of his ministry: 1 Timothy 4:12, Let no man despise thy youth. He had a very early religious education from his godly mother Eunice, and his not less pious grandmother Lois; and, from his religious instructions, was well prepared for the work to which God now called him.

In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty)
So they shook the dust off their feet as a warning to them and went to Iconium.
At Iconium Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue. There they spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed.
But they found out about it and fled to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding country,
After Paul and Silas came out of the prison, they went to Lydia's house, where they met with the brothers and sisters and encouraged them. Then they left.
But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.
