For when you die and are buried with your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, your own offspring, and I will make his kingdom strong.
The LORD said, "I have made a covenant with David, my chosen servant. I have sworn this oath to him:
The LORD swore an oath to David with a promise he will never take back: "I will place one of your descendants on your throne.
If your descendants obey the terms of my covenant and the laws that I teach them, then your royal line will continue forever and ever."
For my people will serve the LORD their God and their king descended from David--the king I will raise up for them.
