As the LORD had said beforehand, Nebuchadnezzar carried away all the treasures from the LORD's Temple and the royal palace. He stripped away all the gold objects that King Solomon of Israel had placed in the Temple.
They angered God by building shrines to other gods; they made him jealous with their idols.
"What did they see in your palace?" asked Isaiah. "They saw everything," Hezekiah replied. "I showed them everything I own--all my royal treasuries."
At no cost to them, I will hand over your wealth and treasures as plunder to your enemies, for sin runs rampant in your land.
