New Living Translation
The priest must make this pronouncement as soon as he sees an open sore, since open sores indicate the presence of a skin disease.
King James Bible
And the priest shall see the raw flesh, and pronounce him to be unclean: for the raw flesh is unclean: it is a leprosy.
Darby Bible Translation
And the priest shall look on the raw flesh, and shall pronounce him unclean: the raw flesh is unclean, it is leprosy.
World English Bible
The priest shall examine the raw flesh, and pronounce him unclean: the raw flesh is unclean. It is leprosy.
Young's Literal Translation
and the priest hath seen the raw flesh, and hath pronounced him unclean; the raw flesh is unclean, it is leprosy.
Leviticus 13:15 Parallel
CommentaryWesley's Notes on the Bible
13:15 The raw flesh - This is repeated again and again, because raw or living flesh might rather seem a sign of soundness, and the priest might easily be deceived by it, and therefore he was more narrowly to look into it.
But if any open sores appear, the infected person will be pronounced ceremonially unclean.
However, if the open sores heal and turn white like the rest of the skin, the person must return to the priest
