For he was faithful to God, who appointed him, just as Moses served faithfully when he was entrusted with God's entire house.
Moses was certainly faithful in God's house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later.
So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab, just as the LORD had said.
After the death of Moses the LORD's servant, the LORD spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' assistant. He said,
"Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them.
Then the LORD asked Satan, "Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless--a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil."
