Berean Study BibleChristian Standard Bible
Of David. Vindicate me, O LORD! For I have walked with integrity; I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.1Vindicate me, LORD, because I have lived with integrity and have trusted in the LORD without wavering.
Test me, O LORD, and try me; examine my heart and mind.2Test me, LORD, and try me; examine my heart and mind.
For Your loving devotion is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth.3For your faithful love guides me, and I live by your truth.
I do not sit with deceitful men, nor keep company with hypocrites.4I do not sit with the worthless or associate with hypocrites.
I hate the mob of evildoers, and refuse to sit with the wicked.5I hate a crowd of evildoers, and I do not sit with the wicked.
I wash my hands in innocence that I may go about Your altar, O LORD,6I wash my hands in innocence and go around your altar, LORD,
to raise my voice in thanksgiving and declare all Your wonderful works.7raising my voice in thanksgiving and telling about your wondrous works.
O LORD, I love the house where You dwell, the place where Your glory resides.8LORD, I love the house where you dwell, the place where your glory resides.
Do not take my soul away with sinners, or my life with men of bloodshed,9Do not destroy me along with sinners, or my life along with men of bloodshed
in whose hands are wicked schemes, whose right hands are full of bribes.10in whose hands are evil schemes and whose right hands are filled with bribes.
But I will walk with integrity; redeem me and be merciful to me.11But I live with integrity; redeem me and be gracious to me.
My feet stand on level ground; in the congregations I will bless the LORD.12My foot stands on level ground; I will bless the LORD in the assemblies.
