Berean Study BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
Hallelujah! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His commandments.1Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who greatly delights in His commandments.
His descendants will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.2His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.3Wealth and riches are in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.
Light dawns in the darkness for the upright—for the gracious, compassionate, and righteous.4Light arises in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious and compassionate and righteous.
It is well with the man who is generous and lends freely, whose affairs are guided by justice.5It is well with the man who is gracious and lends; He will maintain his cause in judgment.
Surely he will never be shaken; the righteous man will be remembered forever.6For he will never be shaken; The righteous will be remembered forever.
He does not fear bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.7He will not fear evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
His heart is assured; he does not fear, until he looks in triumph on his foes.8His heart is upheld, he will not fear, Until he looks with satisfaction on his adversaries.
He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be lifted high in honor.9He has given freely to the poor, His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor.
The wicked man will see and be grieved; he will gnash his teeth and waste away; the desires of the wicked will perish.10The wicked will see it and be vexed, He will gnash his teeth and melt away; The desire of the wicked will perish.
