Psalm 146
Christian Standard BibleInternational Standard Version
Hallelujah! My soul, praise the LORD.1Hallelujah! Praise the LORD, my soul!
I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing to my God as long as I live.2I will praise the LORD as long as I live, singing praises to my God while I exist.
Do not trust in nobles, in a son of man, who cannot save.3Do not look to nobles, nor to mere human beings who cannot save.
When his breath leaves him, he returns to the ground; on that day his plans die.4When they stop breathing, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans evaporate!
Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,5Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,
the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them. He remains faithful forever,6maker of heaven and earth, the seas and everything in them, forever the guardian of truth,
executing justice for the exploited and giving food to the hungry. The LORD frees prisoners.7who brings justice for the oppressed, and who gives food to the hungry. The LORD frees the prisoners;
The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD raises up those who are oppressed. The LORD loves the righteous.8the LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are weighed down. The LORD loves the righteous.
The LORD protects resident aliens and helps the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.9The LORD stands guard over the stranger; he supports both widows and orphans, but makes the path of the wicked slippery.
The LORD reigns forever; Zion, your God reigns for all generations. Hallelujah!10The LORD will reign forever, your God, Zion, for all generations! Hallelujah!
