Psalm 120
ESV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionNew Living Translation
1In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me.1I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.
2Deliver me, O LORD, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.2Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people.
3What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue?3O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?
4A warrior’s sharp arrows, with glowing coals of the broom tree!4You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.
5Woe to me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!5How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar.
6Too long have I had my dwelling among those who hate peace.6I am tired of living among people who hate peace.
7I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war!7I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war!
