Holman Christian Standard BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
Hallelujah! Happy is the man who fears the LORD, taking great delight in His commands. 1Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who greatly delights in His commandments.
His descendants will be powerful in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. 2His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. 3Wealth and riches are in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.
Light shines in the darkness for the upright. He is gracious, compassionate, and righteous. 4Light arises in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Good will come to a man who lends generously and conducts his business fairly. 5It is well with the man who is gracious and lends; He will maintain his cause in judgment.
He will never be shaken. The righteous man will be remembered forever. 6For he will never be shaken; The righteous will be remembered forever.
He will not fear bad news; his heart is confident, trusting in the LORD. 7He will not fear evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
His heart is assured; he will not fear. In the end he will look in triumph on his foes. 8His heart is upheld, he will not fear, Until he looks with satisfaction on his adversaries.
He distributes freely to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted in honor. 9He has given freely to the poor, His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor.
The wicked man will see it and be angry; he will gnash his teeth in despair. The desire of the wicked man will come to nothing. 10The wicked will see it and be vexed, He will gnash his teeth and melt away; The desire of the wicked will perish.
