| 1But as for you, teach what is consistent with healthy doctrine. | 1But you are to proclaim things consistent with sound teaching. |

| 3Likewise, older women are to show their reverence for God by their behavior. | 4They should encourage the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children, | 4so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands and to love their children, |
| 5to be sensible and pure, to manage their households, to be kind, and to submit themselves to their husbands. Otherwise, the word of God may be discredited. | 5to be self-controlled, pure, workers at home, kind, and in submission to their husbands, so that God's word will not be slandered. |

| 8Use wholesome speech that cannot be condemned. Then any opponent will be ashamed because he cannot say anything bad about us. | 8Your message is to be sound beyond reproach, so that any opponent will be ashamed, because he doesn't have anything bad to say about us. |
| 9Slaves are to submit to their masters in everything, aiming to please them and not argue with them | 9Slaves are to submit to their masters in everything, and to be well-pleasing, not talking back |
