Psalm 123
ISV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNET Bible
1To you, who sit enthroned in heaven, I lift up my eyes.1A song of ascents. I look up toward you, the one enthroned in heaven.
2Consider this: as the eyes of a servant focus on what his master provides, and as the eyes of a female servant focus on what her mistress provides, so our eyes focus on the LORD our God, until he has mercy on us.2Look, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female servant look to the hand of her mistress, so my eyes will look to the LORD, our God, until he shows us favor.
3Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy, for we have had more than enough of contempt.3Show us favor, O LORD, show us favor! For we have had our fill of humiliation, and then some.
4Our lives overflow with scorn from those who live at ease, with contempt from those who are proud.4We have had our fill of the taunts of the self-assured, of the contempt of the proud.
