Psalm 138
ISV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew Living Translation
1LORD, I thank you with all of my heart; because you heard the words that I spoke, I will sing your praise before the heavenly beings. 1I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods.
2I will bow down in worship toward your holy Temple and give thanks to your name for your gracious love and truth, for you have done great things to carry out your word consistent with your name.2I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.
3When I called out, you answered me; you strengthened me.3As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.
4LORD, all the kings of the earth will give you thanks, for they have heard what you have spoken. 4Every king in all the earth will thank you, LORD, for all of them will hear your words.
5They will sing about the ways of the LORD, for great is the glory of the LORD!5Yes, they will sing about the LORD’s ways, for the glory of the LORD is very great.
6Though the LORD is highly exalted, yet he pays attention to those who are lowly regarded, but he is aware of the arrogant from afar.6Though the LORD is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.
7Though I walk straight into trouble, you preserve my life, stretching out your hand to fight the vehemence of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.7Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me.
8The LORD will complete what his purpose is for me. LORD, your gracious love is eternal; do not abandon your personal work in me. 8The LORD will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.
