Psalm 8
ISV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew Living Translation
1LORD, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth! You set your glory above the heavens!1O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens.
2Out of the mouths of infants and nursing babies you have established strength on account of your adversaries, in order to silence the enemy and vengeful foe.2You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you.
3When I look at the heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you established—3When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place—
4what is man that you take notice of him, or the son of man that you pay attention to him?4what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?
5You made him a little less than divine, but you crowned him with glory and honor.5Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.
6You gave him dominion over the work of your hands, you put all things under his feet:6You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority—
7Sheep and cattle—all of them, wild creatures of the field,7the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals,
8birds in the sky, fish in the sea— whatever moves through the currents of the oceans.8the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents.
9LORD, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth!9O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
