Corinthians 13
KJV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
King James BibleChristian Standard Bible
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.1If I speak human or angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.2If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.3And if I give away all my possessions, and if I give over my body in order to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,4Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;5is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs.
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;6Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth.
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.7It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.8Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part,
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.10but when the perfect comes, the partial will come to an end.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.11When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put aside childish things.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.12For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, as I am fully known.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.13Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love--but the greatest of these is love.
