Psalm 142
KJV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleChristian Standard Bible
1Maschil of David; A Prayer when he was in the cave. I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication.1I cry aloud to the LORD; I plead aloud to the LORD for mercy.
2I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.2I pour out my complaint before him; I reveal my trouble to him.
3When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.3Although my spirit is weak within me, you know my way. Along this path I travel they have hidden a trap for me.
4I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.4Look to the right and see: no one stands up for me; there is no refuge for me; no one cares about me.
5I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.5I cry to you, LORD; I say, "You are my shelter, my portion in the land of the living."
6Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.6Listen to my cry, for I am very weak. Rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me.
7Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.7Free me from prison so that I can praise your name. The righteous will gather around me because you deal generously with me.
