King James BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.1Now I lifted up my eyes again and looked, and behold, four chariots were coming forth from between the two mountains; and the mountains were bronze mountains.
In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;2With the first chariot were red horses, with the second chariot black horses,
And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.3with the third chariot white horses, and with the fourth chariot strong dappled horses.
Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?4Then I spoke and said to the angel who was speaking with me, "What are these, my lord?"
And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.5The angel replied to me, "These are the four spirits of heaven, going forth after standing before the Lord of all the earth,
The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country.6with one of which the black horses are going forth to the north country; and the white ones go forth after them, while the dappled ones go forth to the south country.
And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.7"When the strong ones went out, they were eager to go to patrol the earth." And He said, "Go, patrol the earth." So they patrolled the earth.
Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.8Then He cried out to me and spoke to me saying, "See, those who are going to the land of the north have appeased My wrath in the land of the north."
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,9The word of the LORD also came to me, saying,
Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;10"Take an offering from the exiles, from Heldai, Tobijah and Jedaiah; and you go the same day and enter the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, where they have arrived from Babylon.
Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;11"Take silver and gold, make an ornate crown and set it on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest.
And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:12"Then say to him, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Behold, a man whose name is Branch, for He will branch out from where He is; and He will build the temple of the LORD.
Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.13"Yes, it is He who will build the temple of the LORD, and He who will bear the honor and sit and rule on His throne. Thus, He will be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two offices."'
And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the LORD.14"Now the crown will become a reminder in the temple of the LORD to Helem, Tobijah, Jedaiah and Hen the son of Zephaniah.
And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.15"Those who are far off will come and build the temple of the LORD." Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. And it will take place if you completely obey the LORD your God.
