Daniel 12
NASB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
"Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued.1"At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people--everyone whose name is found written in the book--will be delivered.
"Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt.2Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.
"Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.3Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
"But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase."4But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge."
Then I, Daniel, looked and behold, two others were standing, one on this bank of the river and the other on that bank of the river.5Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank.
And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long will it be until the end of these wonders?"6One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?"
I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, as he raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time; and as soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed.7The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, "It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed."
As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said, "My lord, what will be the outcome of these events?"8I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?"
He said, "Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time.9He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end.
"Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.10Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
"From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.11"From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.
"How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days!12Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
"But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will enter into rest and rise again for your allotted portion at the end of the age."13"As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance."
