Psalm 132
NASB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
A Song of Ascents. Remember, O LORD, on David's behalf, All his affliction;1A song of ascents. LORD, remember David and all his self-denial.
How he swore to the LORD And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob,2He swore an oath to the LORD, he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
"Surely I will not enter my house, Nor lie on my bed;3"I will not enter my house or go to my bed,
I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids,4I will allow no sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,
Until I find a place for the LORD, A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob."5till I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."
Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah, We found it in the field of Jaar.6We heard it in Ephrathah, we came upon it in the fields of Jaar:
Let us go into His dwelling place; Let us worship at His footstool.7"Let us go to his dwelling place, let us worship at his footstool, saying,
Arise, O LORD, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength.8Arise, LORD, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might.
Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, And let Your godly ones sing for joy.9May your priests be clothed with your righteousness; may your faithful people sing for joy.'"
For the sake of David Your servant, Do not turn away the face of Your anointed.10For the sake of your servant David, do not reject your anointed one.
The LORD has sworn to David A truth from which He will not turn back: "Of the fruit of your body I will set upon your throne.11The LORD swore an oath to David, a sure oath he will not revoke: "One of your own descendants I will place on your throne.
"If your sons will keep My covenant And My testimony which I will teach them, Their sons also shall sit upon your throne forever."12If your sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne for ever and ever."
For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation.13For the LORD has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling, saying,
"This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.14"This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.
"I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her needy with bread.15I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor I will satisfy with food.
"Her priests also I will clothe with salvation, And her godly ones will sing aloud for joy.16I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her faithful people will ever sing for joy.
"There I will cause the horn of David to spring forth; I have prepared a lamp for Mine anointed.17"Here I will make a horn grow for David and set up a lamp for my anointed one.
"His enemies I will clothe with shame, But upon himself his crown shall shine."18I will clothe his enemies with shame, but his head will be adorned with a radiant crown."
