Psalm 116
NET Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleInternational Standard Version
I love the LORD because he heard my plea for mercy, 1I love the LORD because he has heard my prayer for mercy;
and listened to me. As long as I live, I will call to him when I need help. 2for he listens to me whenever I call.
The ropes of death tightened around me, the snares of Sheol confronted me. I was confronted with trouble and sorrow. 3The ropes of death were wound around me and the anguish of Sheol came upon me; I encountered distress and sorrow.
I called on the name of the LORD, "Please LORD, rescue my life!" 4Then I called on the name of the LORD, "LORD, please deliver me!"
The LORD is merciful and fair; our God is compassionate. 5The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is compassionate;
The LORD protects the untrained; I was in serious trouble and he delivered me. 6the LORD watches over the innocent; I was brought low, and he delivered me.
Rest once more, my soul, for the LORD has vindicated you. 7Return to your resting place, my soul, for the LORD treated you generously.
Yes, LORD, you rescued my life from death, and kept my feet from stumbling. 8Indeed, you delivered my soul from death, my eyes from crying, and my feet from stumbling.
I will serve the LORD in the land of the living. 9I will walk in the LORD's presence in the lands of the living.
I had faith when I said, "I am severely oppressed." 10I will continue to believe, even when I say, "I am greatly afflicted"
I rashly declared, "All men are liars." 11and speak hastily, "All people are liars!"
How can I repay the LORD for all his acts of kindness to me? 12What will I return to the LORD for all his benefits to me?
I will celebrate my deliverance, and call on the name of the LORD. 13I will raise my cup of deliverance and invoke the LORD's name.
I will fulfill my vows to the LORD before all his people. 14I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.
The LORD values the lives of his faithful followers. 15In the sight of the LORD, the death of his faithful ones is valued.
Yes, LORD! I am indeed your servant; I am your lowest slave. You saved me from death. 16LORD, I am indeed your servant. I am your servant. I am the son of your handmaid. You have released my bonds.
I will present a thank offering to you, and call on the name of the LORD. 17I will bring you a thanksgiving offering and call on the name of the LORD!
I will fulfill my vows to the LORD before all his people, 18I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people,
in the courts of the LORD's temple, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD! 19in the courts of the LORD's house, in your midst, Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
