Once more I looked, and this time I saw four chariots emerging from between two mountains of bronze.1Then I looked up again and saw four chariots coming from between two bronze mountains.
Harnessed to the first chariot were red horses, to the second black horses,2The first chariot was pulled by red horses, the second by black horses,
to the third white horses, and to the fourth spotted horses, all of them strong.3the third by white horses, and the fourth by powerful dappled-gray horses.
Then I asked the angelic messenger who was speaking with me, "What are these, sir?"4“And what are these, my lord?” I asked the angel who was talking with me.
The messenger replied, "These are the four spirits of heaven that have been presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth.5The angel replied, “These are the four spirits of heaven who stand before the Lord of all the earth. They are going out to do his work.
The chariot with the black horses is going to the north country and the white ones are going after them, but the spotted ones are going to the south country.6The chariot with black horses is going north, the chariot with white horses is going west, and the chariot with dappled-gray horses is going south.”
All these strong ones are scattering; they have sought permission to go and walk about over the earth." The Lord had said, "Go! Walk about over the earth!" So they are doing so.7The powerful horses were eager to set out to patrol the earth. And the LORD said, “Go and patrol the earth!” So they left at once on their patrol.
Then he cried out to me, "Look! The ones going to the northland have brought me peace about the northland." 8Then the LORD summoned me and said, “Look, those who went north have vented the anger of my Spirit there in the land of the north.” The Crowning of Jeshua
The word of the LORD came to me as follows:9Then I received another message from the LORD:
"Choose some people from among the exiles, namely, Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, all of whom have come from Babylon, and when you have done so go to the house of Josiah son of Zephaniah.10“Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah will bring gifts of silver and gold from the Jews exiled in Babylon. As soon as they arrive, meet them at the home of Josiah son of Zephaniah.
Then take some silver and gold to make a crown and set it on the head of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest.11Accept their gifts, and make a crown from the silver and gold. Then put the crown on the head of Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest.
Then say to him, 'The LORD who rules over all says, "Look--here is the man whose name is Branch, who will sprout up from his place and build the temple of the LORD.12Tell him, ‘This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: Here is the man called the Branch. He will branch out from where he is and build the Temple of the LORD.
Indeed, he will build the temple of the LORD, and he will be clothed in splendor, sitting as king on his throne. Moreover, there will be a priest with him on his throne and they will see eye to eye on everything.13Yes, he will build the Temple of the LORD. Then he will receive royal honor and will rule as king from his throne. He will also serve as priest from his throne, and there will be perfect harmony between his two roles.’
The crown will then be turned over to Helem, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and Hen son of Zephaniah as a memorial in the temple of the LORD.14“The crown will be a memorial in the Temple of the LORD to honor those who gave it—Heldai, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and Josiah son of Zephaniah.”
Then those who are far away will come and build the temple of the LORD so that you may know that the LORD who rules over all has sent me to you. This will all come to pass if you completely obey the voice of the LORD your God."'" 15People will come from distant lands to rebuild the Temple of the LORD. And when this happens, you will know that my messages have been from the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. All this will happen if you carefully obey what the LORD your God says.
