New International VersionChristian Standard Bible
Of David. A psalm. The LORD says to my lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."1This is the declaration of the LORD to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool."
The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying, "Rule in the midst of your enemies!"2The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion. Rule over your surrounding enemies.
Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor, your young men will come to you like dew from the morning's womb.3Your people will volunteer on your day of battle. In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, the dew of your youth belongs to you.
The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."4The LORD has sworn an oath and will not take it back: "You are a priest forever according to the pattern of Melchizedek."
The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.5The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his anger.
He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.6He will judge the nations, heaping up corpses; he will crush leaders over the entire world.
He will drink from a brook along the way, and so he will lift his head high.7He will drink from the brook by the road; therefore, he will lift up his head.
