Psalm 63
NIV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionInternational Standard Version
1A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah. You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.1God, you are my God! I will fervently seek you. My soul thirsts for you; my flesh longs for you in a dry, weary, and parched land.
2I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.2So I have looked for you in the sanctuary, to behold your power and glory.
3Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.3Because your gracious love is better than life itself, my lips will praise you.
4I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.4So I will bless you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in your name.
5I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.5Just as I am satisfied with the choicest of foods, so my lips will praise you joyfully.
6On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.6When I think of you in bed, I will meditate on you in the night watches.
7Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.7For you have been my strength, and in the shadow of your wings I will shout for joy.
8I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.8My soul clings to you, even as your right hand supports me.
9Those who want to kill me will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth.9But as for those who seek to destroy me, they will go down to the depths of the earth;
10They will be given over to the sword and become food for jackals.10May they be given over to the power of the sword; may they become carrion for jackals.
11But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God will glory in him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced.11But as for the king, he will rejoice in God. Indeed, everyone who swears by God will exult, because the mouths of liars will be silenced.
